The Courtney Hollow Band is Bill Collins, Tom Hogge, Troy Gooding, and James Hyler. They have a hard driving, traditional bluegrass sound with stellar instrumental playing and fine vocal harmonies, and their three albums feature both traditional and original songs. They have appeared throughout Central Virginia and beyond, from the Rex Theater in Galax to the Old Schoolhouse in Luckett, and at the Mineral, Amelia, and Grave’s Mountain Bluegrass Festivals among others.

The Whiskey Rebellion is Ryan Phillips, Mary Simpson, Roy Myers, and David Cosper. They recently released their self-titled debut album, made up of fourteen original songs and the band’s take on the traditional fiddle tune “Whiskey Before Breakfast.” Their sound is bluegrass with dimensions of jazz, Celtic music, American balladry, and more. Playing over 60 shows last year, they were fortunate enough to share the bill with acts such as The Seldom Scene, Tony Rice & Peter Rowan, and Larry Keel and Natural Bridge.
